B est Aberdeen Angus beef that has been traditionally reared is appreciated for its dark meat, marbled with threads of creamy white fat which gives the beef its tenderness and texture producing the flavour and succulent taste of "Old Fashioned Beef."
E lizabeth Scotts beef is one of Britains Great British Food Products, her farm, of approx 500 acres lies in an area of outstanding beauty on the ancient drove road beside the mediaeval town of Axbridge. It is here that her herd of cattle is raised in the environmentally sensitive area of the Somerset Levels and to a height of over 150 meters on the top of the Mendip Hills. Elizabeth follows the same traditional farming methods that her great grandfather used a hundred years ago.
E ach animal can be traced back for generations. They have immense space to roam, with woods and hollows for shelter. The cattle grow naturally in a stress free environment staying in the same groups from birth. They are treated as individuals with great dignity and respect.
F ollowing this natural regime the cattle are transported personally to a local abattoir and returned to the farms own purpose built cold store and farm shop.
It is here that the meat is hung for 2 -3 weeks to bring out its rich depth of flavour and texture. It is then cut to meet customers requirements and freshly packed for refrigeration or freezing. The full range of meat cuts is available.
